An Accessible Venue for All
No matter your accessibility level, BCEC makes it easy to enjoy every moment of Worldcon 2028. The Centre is designed with accessibility in mind, so getting around is simple and stress-free.
- All main entrances are wheelchair-friendly, with ramps and lifts for smooth access.
- Lifts and escalators connect every level, and accessible routes are clearly marked throughout the venue.
- Handy drop-off zones for taxis and rideshare are right near the main entrances.

We’ve won the Energex Award for Sustainability twice and hold EarthCheck Platinum Certification, so caring for the environment and community is part of everything we do.
We work with our clients, guests and suppliers to minimise the impact of events in the following ways:
- We work closely with suppliers under a Memorandum of Understanding to achieve shared sustainability goals
- We’re the only convention centre in Australia with a state-of-the-art food dehydrator, reducing kitchen waste by 85% and creating nutrient-rich biomass used as soil enhancer in Brisbane’s city gardens and South Bank Parklands
